Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Review

If you are frequent purveyor of our blog, you may know that we're HUGE fans of Cinemassacre - home of the brilliant web series, The Angry Video Game Nerd. The AVGN reviews the Nintendo Power Glove, the first time he reviews something other than just a game. Helping in Rolfe's ideas eventually turned into guest appearances as game-related characters, but because he doesn't consider himself an actor, Mike greatly prides himself on his artistic and technical contributions.

Leading up to the release of Spider-Man for PS4, Mike Matei takes a look at many Spider-Man games from the past. 2 In 2004, with collaboration from his friend Mike Matei, Rolfe put the Angry Nintendo Nerd videos on his website, In 2006, Matei persuaded Rolfe to put his work on YouTube , where it gained in popularity.

During the review the Nerd is forced and threatened by Jason Voorhees to do a positive review of the game. 1 From there, the series became a cult success, and Rolfe began appearing as the character in various other media such as a feature-length film and video games, and many public appearances.

I get emails daily from people telling me how much they like my videos and them suggesting things they want to see me review. Mike: Jason Voorhees probably worked best technically because of how he forced the Nerd to play his game. Credit goes to: Cinemassacre, the makers of these great videos.

Cinemassacre is a great site dedicated to video content, whether its movie reviews, gaming reviews, or original web series, there's something for everybody. The AVGN reviews Fester's Quest (NES) and The Addams Family (Genesis). The AVGN reviews Total Recall (NES), Last Action Hero (NES), Conan (NES), Commando (NES), Predator (NES).

While choosing what game to review, the Nerd briefly looks at the infamous E.T., but then passes by. Although the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde review was intended to be the last, Rolfe's friends, who enjoyed the previous Bad NES games” reviews, encouraged him to create another.

I'm the editor for several Cinemassacre web series, such as Monster Madness and James & Mike Mondays. The Angry Video Game Nerd was voted Best Online Web Series in Mashable's 3rd Annual Open Web Awards on December 16, 2009. In 2013, an official video game titled Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures was announced.

The Angry Video Game Nerd was a success and has gained a cult following, as well as the character appearing in various other media such as a feature-length film, various video games, and public appearances. The video quality (especially on the early episodes) are higher-quality than the same videos on youtube.

If we want to do that for a game or movie review we can just use the box cover to the game itself or the movie poster. Thats one of the qualities that make AVGN reviews so great, there's so much information its almost like watching a documentary about the game instead of just a review.

I do that for all 31 reviews, and Mike Matei then hand the entire thing over to James on a large hard drive. Mike Matei (b. 1980) is an actor, artist, and executive producer of Cinemassacre Productions, owned by his best friend James Rolfe , who he works with on writing, editing, and starring in a multitude of series.
